The Jimmy Justice Family has a great heritage in Southern Gospel Music. Jimmy and Louise each sang with their families from early ages. Each of their three daughters; Sandra, Gloria, and Marsha began singing at the early ages of three. They started singing in their small home church, Mountain Home Baptist, in Edneyville, NC. Gradually they began to get more and more invitations to other churches and other various places to sing.
In 1974, they recorded their first album with Tri-State Recording Company in Kingsport, TN. The album was titled “Living on Higher Ground”. The album featured such songs as “Living on Higher Ground”, “Joshua”, and “Oh, How I Love Jesus.” Their 2nd release came shortly after in 1975 producing the ever popular: “Child’s Request.”
In 1975, Jimmy preached his first sermon and still continues to preach revival services. Louise and “The Girls” have always gone with him and sang at each meeting. 1979 brought the release of their 3rd album entitled: “I Won’t Worry” (Louise’s first hit). The same year Jimmy accepted Pastorate of Fellowship Baptist Church and still, after 35 years, continues to be their pastor. Many albums have followed since those early days.
Jimmy and Louise have seven grandchildren; Shawn, Nathan, Kaleb, Kayla, Hannah, Aaron, and Leah. They sing and play several instruments ranging from Saxophone, Piano, Cello, Harmonica, Flute, Mandolin, Clarinet, Violin, Organ and Guitar. They have also been featured on several of their singing productions and are a major factor in their Live performances today!
Louise has written several songs with the Little Sheep Publishing Company of which she is the owner. Her song “He is not Here, He is Risen” was released nationally to over 1400 radio stations on Capitol’s Label ( Vol. 21, Cut #8 ) in 1999. Another of her songs titled “Come Up Hither” was released with Lighthouse Hits on radio compilation (Vol. 22, Cut #4 ) 2002. They have released several charting singles including the song: “Sing for the Savior is Born” on Capitol’s Christmas radio compilation (Vol. 34, Cut# 13 ) in 2000. “I Have Hope”, written by gospel music legend Dottie Rambo, was released on Lighthouse Hits in 2003. ( Vol. 32, Cut# 7 ), and their most recent single: “What You Gonna Do With Jesus?” was released on the Crossroads July 2014 airplay sampler.
In 2005 the family released “We Sing Because”. This CD featured the song written by Squire Parsons, “I Sing Because”. Also featured is a song by Ila Knight titled, “What A Morning.” This song was sent to over 1400 radio stations on Crossroads July Compilation Cut #1. This song hit the Southern Gospel Top 80 Charts at #74 and climbed for several weeks.
